Aragonite is a purer and more porous source of calcium than limestone. We have conducted university research at The Penn State College of Agricultural Sciences that demonstrated better bioavailability than limestone and sodium bicarbonate in dairy cows. Aragonite demonstrated comparable rumen buffering to sodium bicarbonate while providing superior calcium bioavailability.
